Fight Bonded Labour
International Justice Mission (IJM) is a human rights organisation that secures justice for victims of violent oppression. With 14 field offices worldwide, IJM tackles a range of issues including bonded labour, sex trafficking of minors, sexual violence, forced prostitution, forced labour, illegal property seizure, illegal detention and police brutality. In India International Justice Mission (IJM) has offices located in Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. IJM Kolkata and IJM Mumbai work to eradicate sex trafficking of minors, while IJM Chennai and IJM Bangalore address the issue of bonded labour. IJM Delhi focuses on national advocacy for bonded labour.

With the Middle East spinning around at present faster than a Hanukkah dreidel, some have been writing to seek my opinion on the possible prophetic implications of the escalating warfare in Syria and the dramatic Muslim Brotherhood advance in Egypt. Although I am a journalist by profession, having reported the news from Israel and the region since the early 1980s, I also have a longtime personal interest in eschatological biblical prophecy. This is evidenced by my authorship of two prophetic novels, THE END OF DAYS and MILLENNIUM: THE LORD REIGNS. I also touched upon some prophetic themes in my 2001 book, ISRAEL IN CRISIS: WHAT LIES AHEAD? Plus there is the fact that the essence of all biblical prophecy is nothing less than news that has not yet transpired. The Titanic
April 15th was the 100 anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. In commemoration of the event Baptist News carried the story of Pastor John Harper.
John Harper and his six year old daughter were travelling to the USA on the Titanic. He had been invited by Moody Church in Chicago to become the next Pastor. When the Titanic hit the iceberg, Harper led his daughter to a lifeboat. As a widower he may have been allowed to join her but instead turned back. He chose to offer the masses a last chance to know Christ. As the ship was sinking Harper was heard shouting “women, children and the unsaved to the life boats”. When one man refused to accept Christ Harper gave him his life jacket saying. “you need it more than I do.”
At a reunion after the tragedy a survivor told how in the icy waters Harper twice challenged him to “believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” First time the man refused but given a second chance he gave his life to Christ. He concluded by saying that he was the last man to be saved by John Harper.
The article concludes: “After the tragedy the White Star Line place a board outside its offices reading KNOWN TO BE SAVED and KNOWN TO BE LOST. The owners of the Titanic had simply reaffirmed what John Harper already knew. There are people who know Christ and will spend eternity with God in heaven and many others who will not.”

Why did Jesus suffer?
The amazing fact about our redemption is that there was nothing accidental about it. Throughout the Old Testament there are countless references to the fact that Jesus would suffer for our sins. He is the lamb, prefigured in the Passover, slain from the foundation of the world. Psalm 22, for example – the Psalm quoted by our Saviour on the cross – gives details of death by crucifixion 400 years before crucifixion was first used as a method of executing criminals, and 1000 years before Jesus died. Signs of the end of the age 7 – Islam
The final sign in this series is both controversial and not as yet so widely accepted.
At the end of this present age an empire will gain ascendancy. In Revelation it is described as a beast which the whole earth follows after (Rev 13: 3). The beast is both an empire and a man who heads the empire and leads the final revolt against Christ (Rev 19:19). It has been generally accepted that this man is also the one who is described elsewhere as ‘the man of lawlessness’ (2 Thess 2: 3). Continue reading
Global March to Jerusalem
The global march to free Jerusalem is scheduled for this Friday 30th March. The organisers hope that 1 million people will join the march to Israel’s borders, getting as close to Jerusalem as possible. Demonstrations are also planned outside Israeli embassies around the world. In a nasty turn of events DEBKA file reports that Iran is forcing a number of Iranian Jewish young men to take part in the march. See DEBKA Newsletter, March 23, 2012. The intention is to place these Jewish young men in the front of the march to deter a firm Israeli response.
Pray for wisdom to be given to the leadership of Israel on how to deal with the march and for protection on any Jews forced to take part.

Salafi Islam
The Spring 2011 edition of Trumpet Sounds carried an article on the Muslim Brotherhood. It looked at its history and explained why despite being persecuted by the state it had steadily gained in popularity. The article predicted that the Muslim Brotherhood was poised to fill the political vacuum left by the overthrow of Mubarak.
What was not foreseen at the time was the rise of an even more extreme brand of conservative Islam. The Salafi Al-noor party has gained about 25% of the popular vote in Egypt. They gained support by claiming that the Muslim Brotherhood who has been prepared to achieve its goals through political means was not being true to Islam. Continue reading
Vladamir Putin Fidei Def!
Most British coins carry the letters F D after the name of the monarch. This is short for the Latin Fidei Def which translated is Defender of the Faith. The title was first granted by Pope Leo X in 1521 to the English King, Henry VIII. Following the break with Rome and the excommunication of Henry by Pope Pius III the title was revoked. Then in 1544 Parliament conferred the title on the English monarch as defender of the Anglican faith. Continue reading
